This is something that I used to make years ago and forgot about until recently. Not much to know other than having all these ingredients, cooking the salmon and hard boiled eggs. It is really good! Bigger tomatoes work better but this is what I had. Just layer it up and enjoy!

Chicken, broccoli, roasted tomato, herbed cheese omelette
Omelettes are a window to what is in my refrigerator at the moment. Fairway has delicious Australian roasted tomatoes that I like to buy. I had Boursin cheese which was interesting in the omelette, too. This one was kind of chunky and I think the best ones I have made have more fresh herbs and bacon.
Pasta in cream sauce with corn, broccoli and ham with chicken
This was another peek into the frig dinner. I cooked up chicken thighs and tenders that needed to be cooked or else. I cooked them in olive oil, salt and lots of pepper. I made this new shape of pasta that looks like little pieces of lasagna noodles. I sautéed some cooked broccoli, ham, corn, peas and red peppers. I…
Pizza with garlic, smoked mozzarella, provolone, charred corn, broccoli, shrimp, bacon, shallots
The name and the pictures pretty much say how I made this. Again, a window to the current contents of my refrigerator on a Trader Joes pizza dough crust. Some fresh italian parsley on top after it came out of the oven. It was a really interesting combination of flavors. Smoked mozzarella is a cool cheese that I have never…
Vegetable Pastrami Soup
I have been playing with pastrami lately! I am so happy they are making so many delicious meats uncured and without nitrites! All the flavor and none of the scary stuff. Trader Joes sells this and I keep buying it. I had a Rosemary Ham phase and now I am in the pastrami phase of experimentation. This soup turned out…
Torte Milanese – a 15 year procrastination!
I got this great Julia Child Baking cookbook from a friend and saw this recipe and dreamed about making it. Not until 15 years later did I decide to try it, inspired by Henry’s “just go for it in the kitchen” attitude. Here are the pictures from my creation. It looked very much like the pictures and tasted great. Not…
Egg Rolls
I used to make these years ago. I thought it would be fun to try again and show Henry. The recipe is not that exact. Ground pork, ginger, vegetables and Asian seasonings. The dipping sauce was soy sauce, rice wine vinegar, lime juice and red pepper flakes. The lime juice makes it fresh!
Shepherd’s Pie
This wasn’t the traditional Shepherds Pie. Henry and I were looking at what we had in the kitchen and this is what we came up with. Henry started the project and then abandoned it halfway and I picked up and took over and then Henry added his finishing touch. It was an interesting group effort that turned out better than…
Vegetable Soup and Chicken
I had way too much produce in the refrigerator and needed to make good use of it before it all went bad so this was the easiest and healthiest solution. Vegetable soup! I had a bunch of fresh herbs, too! I decided to throw in everything at once, even the whole stalks of rosemary, thyme and Italian parsley. I should…
Riccioli Pasta with Caramelized Corn
This is the Riccioli pasta I found at Fairway that sat in my kitchen waiting for something interesting to happen with it! I found this recipe online at Food and Wine. Their recipe has you making the pasta from scratch and twirling the strands of homemade pasta around a knitting needle which sounds amazing but these store bought ones were…
